Since 1988, Community Medical Center Healthcare System, with our dedicated staff, state-of-the-art technology and commitment to quality care, has sustained the NEPA Trauma Center. We understand how important excellent and high-quality trauma services are for families and individuals needing this type of critical care. Although this requires a serious financial commitment from us, it is a commitment that we are proud to make to all residents of northeastern Pennsylvania. The attributes that make the Medical Center a unique and valued institution are precisely the qualities that have attracted and retained the trauma centers distinguished team of medical professionals. By working together, we as a region can ensure that the NEPA Trauma Center remains viable and is here with a rapid response to our most urgent and critical health needs --- when Minutes really matter.

Allied Services touches the lives of approximately 5,000 people in northeastern Pennsylvania each day. We understand the significance of having a high-quality trauma center in our community. Survivors of life-threatening trauma often recover in one of our programs. This recovery is possible because individuals have immediate access to critical care at the trauma center. We support the NEPA Regional Trauma Center and applaud its efforts in saving lives.

Barnes-Kasson serves the health care needs of residents of Susquehanna County. We understand the importance of having an excellent trauma center, within our reach, that provides care for life-threatening injuries. We must all come together and ensure that the NEPA Regional Trauma Center remains a central aspect of health care in our region.

"Our families, friends and neighbors regionally deserve appropriate health services and the NEPA Regional Trauma Center is a service deserving of the areas support. Marian Community Hospital of Carbondale has come to count on the NEPA Regional Level II Trauma Center. It is reassuring to know that the healthcare team of professionals at the Trauma Center is responsive to the needs of our patients. They have always provided outstanding care to those patients we have needed to transfer for trauma services.

The NEPA Regional Trauma Center is key to ensuring the quality of life for all people in northeastern Pennsylvania and plays a major role in the economic development of the region. Employers depend on and expect excellent healthcare to attract and sustain a viable workforce. Major corporations, small business owners and individuals alike can relocate to, or remain in the region, knowing that quality healthcare is available for family members and/or employees.

We are very fortunate to have the NEPA Regional Trauma Center. No one anticipates a loved one having critical injures, however, it is reassuring that the Trauma Center is available in our community for victims of accidents with multiple injuries. We as a community must be committed to keeping the Trauma Center a viable entity and accessible to all residents of northeastern Pennsylvania.

When minutes matter, residents of northeastern Pennsylvania deserve a trauma center, within reach, that provides critical health care services. The Minutes to a Miracle campaign will ensure these services are continually available to the people in our surrounding communities.

"While Wayne Memorial Hospital is a full service and well respected community hospital in Honesdale, we appreciate having the vast array of resources of the NEPA Trauma Center nearby. The quality of healthcare and for that matter the quality of life would be much different without the NEPA Trauma Center serving our region. Maintaining the Trauma Center in our area is costly; reimbursements come nowhere near covering the expenses of the Center. I would hope that northeastern Pennsylvania shows its generosity in supporting the "Minutes to a Miracle" campaign for the NEPA Trauma Center."

The Trauma Center at Community Medical Center belongs to all of us. Its presence in the community is vital. The initial designation of CMC as regional trauma center was done through EMS, and I had the honor of chairing the EMS Committee that selected CMC from among the applicants. Later, the Trauma Systems Foundation formally designated CMC on behalf of the State of Pennsylvania. In major trauma, minutes and even seconds count with regard to preserving life and limb. The Minutes to a Miracle campaign will help sustain this center of excellence for everyone in the region. Please contribute.
